The Water Splashing Festival of the Dai ethnic minority

The annual Water Splashing Festival is an important festival of the Dai ethnic minority in YunNan province (and nearby countries) during the New Year celebrations of the Dai Calendar; the finale of three days.

In Buddhism, the water splash is a symbolic washing of the past for a new beginning and is the offering of blessing and respect, as well as joy.

The magnificently beautiful Temple of Heaven 天坛, BeiJing 北京
South of the Forbidden City and Tian'AnMen Square in central BeiJing, the blue sky city, lies this amazing Taoist temple, set in an abundant area (now park) of trees and a great place to visit. It is considered a medicinal mushroom in traditional Asian medicine, and tastes great. In the West you can find these in dried form at many Asian stores, and even large supermarkets, possibly in the 'ethnic' section.
