Poetry and architecture
On a trip to Yunhe Terrace in Lishui, Zhejiang in 2016, mother fell in love with the beautiful views and fresh air there. Recalling that mother sold family house in hometown to raise money for his tuition to study abroad 16 years ago, Tian rent a 2-mu land 1030 meters above the sea level and built his mother a new house surrounded by mountains and clouds. The spare rooms are used to run a guesthouse. Ye Hui is a poet. He is passionate about the fate of people, and his poems have been selected many times in the "Chinese Annual Poetry". Meanwhile he is an architect, specializing in old building renovation. In 2014, Ye Hui bought a lakeview villa in Nanjing. Something different – more about narcissism (psychology)
At root, narcissism ('life is all about me') is self-loathing projected onto someone else (the scapegoat, who might be driven to death - through illness, madness, suicide; let's call it what it is - emotional torture; in contrast, all others are shown a completely opposite, OTT, 'lovely' persona; and many will be deceived by this). Narcissism is very destructive; and not often recognized. This is not a rare thing; it could well be 1 in 5 people. Don't miss this; Dr. Ramani is awesome. Ramani Durvasula in conversation with Lewis Howes ... Narcissistic fathers and the damage they do to their children ... Narcissistic mothers and the damage they do to their children ... Narcissism and society ... On how a narcissist will try to destroy you ... Is your depression a symptom of being in a narcissistic relationship? Relationships need some work, including self-reflection; but they shouldn't be hard work - that's a sign it might never work out; if one feels a need to be treading on egg shells, that's confirmation it is doomed. Real relationships are based on mutual respect, flexibility and compassion (unconditional love - no ifs or buts)*; narcissists have none of these attributes. In a time of stress, does the other stay positive and chip in, or start a blame game? Things like this are the signs to look out for. Does the other help you reach your dreams, or belittle you ? Are they present in the moment or in their own little bubble ? A narcissist can't stand your success or happiness. Psychopathologies are all about distortions between reality and self, between inner self and behavior. When there is the absence of such distortions - masks, projections, defense mechanisms, etc., there is authenticity. That's going from acting, to really living. * without needing that person, or allowing oneself to be walked upon. One must be at least somewhat authentic / love oneself first; not trying to complete oneself, etc.
Hiking the Great Wall 长城 of China in the snow
A great film of the Great Wall north of Beijing, including 'wild wall', accompanied by great music (踏古 (Ta Gu) by Lin Hai, 'Walking into Ancientry', with Chinese lute (pipa)). We [mum, dad - videographer - and son and daughter, from Singapore] hiked 3 sections of the Great Wall in winter, without any guides after studying blogs and posts by fellow hikers. All these sections are different. From the unrestored GuBeiKou Great Wall where we were the only people around, to the wonderful JinShanLing, where the climb is steep and every direction gives you good photo opportunities, to the restored MuTianYu where we hiked in heavy snowfall. We stayed at local farmhouses on both nights, dined with the locals and hitched rides to nearby bath-houses. Temperature ranged from -5 deg C (day) to -12 deg C (night). Winter daybreak is at 7am and the sky becomes dark by 5pm so one has only 10 hours of daylight, so plan your travelling and hiking schedules carefully. This once-in-a-lifetime experience was captured on video and we would like to share it with you. The feelings just can't be described - you need to experience it first hand. Take only memories, leave only footprints and kindness ... A wonderful animation combining traditional Chinese painting and dance - don't miss it ! 踏古-林海 作曲:林海 视频作者:中国传媒大学动画学院
