Mount EMei is one of the Four Sacred Buddhist Mountains of China on which there are nearly 70 Buddhist monasteries. At 71 meters (233 feet) in height, LeShan Giant Buddha is the largest stone Buddha in the world.

Also known as the Spring Festival, the Chinese New Year starts on Saturday 28th January this year and on the mainland lasts one week. This year, based on a lunar calendar, will be the Year of the Rooster. Preparations will already be under way and include a spring clean and adding festive decorations. New Year's Eve and New Year's Day are a time for family reunions, and for many this means travelling home from the city to the countryside.

All restaurants will have dishes to cater for vegans and vegetarians but to be certain there's no trace of meat or meat oil or egg in your food, head to a specialized vegetarian restaurant. Longtan Park is located about 1.5 km east of the Temple of Heaven. Next to the west side of Longtan Park is the Beijing Amusement Park that features a ferris wheel and other rides. LongTan ('Dragon Pond') Park features the large Dragon Lake, with 'moon bridges', weeping willows, rock gardens, dragon boats, tea houses and restaurant, winding jogging track, exercise areas and play areas for children.

ShānDōng lies on the coast in east China, roughly halfway between BeiJing and ShangHai. Provincial capital : JiNan. Also includes the city of QuFu, the birthplace of Confucius. Other well-known cities include QingDao, ZaoZhuang, YanTai, WeiFang, JiNing, LinYi and DeZhou. Among others, ShanDong is known for TaiShan sacred mountain, a large number of natural springs that arise from the mountains to the west (ShanDong means 'East of the Mountains), DaMing Lake formed from the spring waters, LaoShan Scenic Area, Thousand Buddha Mountain, LingYan Temple - one of the 4 most famous temples (四大名刹) from the Tang dynasty, PengLai Pavilion, wine-making and its distinctive cuisine, partly centered on seafood.
