Just stop and think for a moment, 12 years ago none of it was there and fast forward to now and you’ve 373 stations network, mind blowing. The idea of giving each line an actual visual identity is great, it’s not just a line colour on a network map but station platforms and train carriages too. Line 8 with it’s green and white colour scheme is super bright. Line 5 with it’s older heritage look and darker tones used but still bright. Line 18 with it’s nods to Zaha Hadid I’d say haha superb also looks like a mini Beijing Daxing with the clinical white look. Line 6 with it’s coral looking sub aquatic look. JiuZhaiGou Valley (九寨沟), literally `Nine Villages Valley`, is a nature reserve and national park located in the north of SiChuan province, near the GanSu border. JiuZhaiGou is part of the MinShan mountains on the edge of the Tibetan Plateau, and is known for its many multi-level waterfalls, colorful mineral lakes and snow-capped peaks. The elevation ranges from 2,000 to 4,500 meters (6,600 to 14,800 feet). It lies 330 km (205 miles) north of the provincial capital of Chengdu and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This remote region has been inhabited by various Tibetan and Qiang peoples for many centuries. The valleys here are lined with 55 km of roads for shuttle buses, as well as wooden boardwalks and small pavilions. The boardwalks are typically located on the opposite side of the lakes from the roads. Many visitors will first take the shuttle bus to the end of RiZe or ShuZheng valley, then make their way back downhill by foot on the boardwalks, taking the bus when the next site is deemed too distant. JiuZhaiGou is a ten hour bus ride from ChengDu, or one can fly from ChengDu or ChongQing to JiuZhai HuangLong Airport, then take an hour long bus ride to HuangLong, or a 90 minute ride to JiuZhaiGou. There is also a daily flight to Xi`An, in the peak season, and from BeiJing, ShangHai and HangZhou.

PingYao is a UNESCO World Heritage Site for being `an exceptionally well-preserved example of a traditional Han Chinese city`. PingYao is an exceptionally well-preserved example of a traditional Han Chinese city, founded in the 14th century. This ancient city is renowned for its well-preserved city walls and outlying temples. The city walls were constructed around 1370 and have six barbican gates. The walls are 12 meters high, with a perimeter of 6 kilometers. A 4 meter wide, 4 meter deep moat lies just beyond. There are also 72 watchtowers.

In 2014, the festival celebrated its 50th birthday and was bigger than ever. See the snow sculptures by day and the ice lantern structures by night. Step back in time in the ancient village of HongCun, 宏村. HongCun is located near the south west slope of Mount HuangShan. The architecture and carvings of the approximately 150 residences dating back from the Ming and Qing dynasties are said to be among the best in China. One of the largest residences open to visitors, ChenZhi Hall, also contains a small museum. Together with XiDi, the village is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Some scenes from the movie `Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon` were filmed on location in HongCun.

Last year, artist Hu JunJun was invited to make a six ton Reclining Buddha statue with twigs, which received much attention on exhibition in XiaMen. In her works, the Buddha often appears among colorful Chinese landscapes in a light and graceful style, rather than in the stereotypical manner of religious art works. The wisdom of the ancients - part 1 - Lao Zi
In our view, one of the reasons why the Dao De Ching (credited to Lao Zi) is such a great work of philosophy lies in the very first words : 'The Dao that can be spoken is not the real Dao'. The most fundamental of standing on the shoulders of anyone is to understand that the concept, the simplification, the model, is not the reality; the words are but a pointing finger, not the moon to which they are pointed. The Dao, (Tao in older PinYin) is often translated as 'the way', which is not too far off, but it means also reality, how things are, as much as how to live the right way - that the essence of enlightenment is true sight of reality. The answer lies in seeing 'what is' rather than in a concept of what 'should be'.
A map is useful, but you need to travel that terrain yourself, with open eyes, and see the truth that cannot adequately be put into words.
Onto Daoism itself - if one thinks of life as a river, then we are not swimming in that river; we are that river.

Suffering comes from attachments. Attachments include beliefs and all the identifications that make up so much of our sense of self. In other words, suffering comes from the rebirth of the past, moment to moment (reincarnation / karma).
Being free of the past is to reach nirvana.
