The Western media's portrayal sounds like a pre-prepared script; part of the long-standing policy of world hegemony through 'color revolutions' destabilisations such as recently in Ukraine (and dozens more). At least, it has persisted in its propaganda for decades. The 'struggle for democracy' really means subservience to Western domination. Who is the one rewriting history? Despite the thousands of protesters, other residents and hundreds of foreign journalists, there is no photographic evidence; the 'proof' lies only in tales. For many weeks the government listened to the protesters but it had become overtaken by 'leaders' determined to force confrontation. About 300 (rioters and military) died a few kilometers west of the square as rioters attacked the military's approach to the square. At the square, an agreement was reached for the protestors to leave by dawn, and that's what happened, without bloodshed. The MSM like to show us the 'tank man'. There is video too. This person climbs onto the tank, talks with the military, then again returns to being in front of the tank, which tries to go around him. Two bystanders then persuade him to leave. What we do not see - anyone getting shot or run over. Some have grudgingly accepted that the violence took place some distance away from square, but state that the location is not important. But it is important given that for decades the tale was of a 'massacre of students in the square'; it shows the deception. Who is the one rewriting history? A great film of the Great Wall north of Beijing, including 'wild wall', accompanied by great music (踏古 (Ta Gu) by Lin Hai, 'Walking into Ancientry', with Chinese lute (pipa)). We [mum, dad - videographer - and son and daughter, from Singapore] hiked 3 sections of the Great Wall in winter, without any guides after studying blogs and posts by fellow hikers. All these sections are different. From the unrestored GuBeiKou Great Wall where we were the only people around, to the wonderful JinShanLing, where the climb is steep and every direction gives you good photo opportunities, to the restored MuTianYu where we hiked in heavy snowfall. We stayed at local farmhouses on both nights, dined with the locals and hitched rides to nearby bath-houses. Temperature ranged from -5 deg C (day) to -12 deg C (night). Winter daybreak is at 7am and the sky becomes dark by 5pm so one has only 10 hours of daylight, so plan your travelling and hiking schedules carefully. This once-in-a-lifetime experience was captured on video and we would like to share it with you. The feelings just can't be described - you need to experience it first hand. Longtan Park is located about 1.5 km east of the Temple of Heaven. Next to the west side of Longtan Park is the Beijing Amusement Park that features a ferris wheel and other rides. LongTan ('Dragon Pond') Park features the large Dragon Lake, with 'moon bridges', weeping willows, rock gardens, dragon boats, tea houses and restaurant, winding jogging track, exercise areas and play areas for children. There is also a beautifully curving pavilion with a dragon roof and pillars decorated with golden spiralled dragons. Indeed, the dragon motif is featured in many places throughout Longtan Park. This is a prime site for the Lantern Festival in Beijing when the whole park is illuminated with large colorful lanterns.
