With the West hell-bent on the demonisation of China and claiming it has ‘opposite values’ (not true at all), and it’s increasing aggression, disinformation and economic sabotage, it is ever more clear that we are heading to war because the West cannot accept a world that it does not totally subjugate.
The real ‘threat’ of China is not any of the things we hear, it is that of being a good example, a country that takes care of all it’s people, and which does not impose on other countries.
It is not about ‘democracy’ and ‘human rights’ – as clearly the West lacks both in any meaningful sense – it is rather a system by and for the super wealthy, and the idea that, for example, all people should be free from poverty must be crushed. Those with levers of power have demonstrated this over and over – the UK’s colonial history, the US’s genocide of the native Americans, slavery, testing nuclear bombs on civilians in Japan after WW2, insane levels of bombing of Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos and Korea, all the middle east and Africa wars, torture centers, ~1,000 overseas military bases, mass incarceration, mass poverty …
Given the US’s ‘pivot to asia’ and the UK’s decision to increase it’s nuclear weapons substantially (~40%), the only way peace can be preserved is for China to have a nuclear deterrent that is a match for the weapons aimed against it. Otherwise, it is a sitting duck. No point in being rational when faced with irrational supremacists. ‘Minimum deterrence’ will not work – if the West thinks they can overwhelm, they will try.
China needs to increase it’s nuclear deterrence to a number more suitable for it’s size, from ~300 to at least 3,000. Only this will be an effective deterrence and maintain world peace.
All sane people seek complete nuclear disarmament, but till then there needs to be peace through Mutually Assured Destruction (MAD). SAD, but the only way to handle BAD.
