 The Summer Palace is the largest and best-preserved imperial garden in China.

Its Chinese name, YiHeYuan, translates as 'Garden of Nurtured Harmony' or 'Garden for Maintaining Health and Harmony'. With interconnected lakes and many pavilions, bridges, pagodas, halls and highly decorated corridors, it is a showcase of Chinese garden arts.

The Great Wall of China is an immensely long man-made wall that was built to keep out invaders. The Great Wall spans nine provinces and its total length is 6,700 km (3,948 miles). The Great Wall extends from ShanHaiGuan (the 'Old Dragon Head'), a seaport along the coast of BoHai, in the east (near BeiDaiHe resort) to JiaYuGuan Pass in GanSu Province in the west. Like a giant dragon, the Great Wall of China winds its way across grasslands, deserts and mountains.

A large yet low and picturesque hill dotted with historical attractions. A famous Song Dynasty poet, Su Shi, once wrote: 'It would be a lifelong pity, if having visited Suzhou, one did not visit Tiger Hill.'

On the summit sits Tiger Hill Pagoda, which has become a symbol of SuZhou and has the distinction of being China's Leaning Tower (a la the one in Pisa, Italy). Built during the Northern Song dynasty (959-961), it is a 48 metre tall, seven-storey octahedron, in the style of the timber pagodas constructed during the early Tang dynasty.

 The stunning China Pavilion stands 63 meters tall.

The unique structural component of interlocking wooden brackets is one of the most important elements in traditional Chinese architecture; DouGong dates from the Spring and Autumn Period (770 BC - 467 BC).
